This item is mainly of interest to AIAA section council members who
are responsible for processing Data Maker spreadsheets obtained from
the AIAA national website.

Following the AIAA SF web-centric meeting on March 21, I've finally
posted an initial distribution of scripts that I use to process Data
Maker spreadsheet files into e-mail lists, mailing label lists, etc.
The files are found in http://groups.google.com/group/aiaa-sf-web/files
under the filenames:
* MemberFilter-README.txt - general read-me file for the suite
* MemberFilter.tgz - suite in compressed tar.gz form
* MemberFilter.zip - suite in Zip form

The workhorse script "memberfilter.py" and the modules it uses are
written in Python. They are known to work on Python 2.3 and 2.4. An
example UNIX shell script drives a set of invocations of
"memberfilter.py" for the San Francisco Section. It generates lists
of:
* all SF section members
* AIAA staff and SF section members with valid e-mail addresses
* young professionals in the section (e-mail and snail mail)
* educator associates
* student members
The shell script can be trivially modified for some other section.

I've delayed releasing this suite while attempting to create some
documentation. However, various folks tell me to just go ahead and
post. As a volunteer, there is never enough time to make it perfect
or professional enough.
