Hi all,
A little update as our big event gets closer. I'm getting excited that
things are coming together for a fun WMIG 2010!
Some basic status reports:
- 11 projects were shortlisted to be interviewed on May 5; all
submitters have been notified; shortlisted teams have been asked to
prepare a display board
- World class jury ... they are still coming! Their shortlisting
process was quite powerful, so I can promise you some fireworks on May
5. If you are a shortlisted team, prepare for tough questions!
- Online gallery is live! People's Choice voting is open. Text and
twitter functions will be turned on for the latter as well. I don't
know the link for the gallery, but perhaps someone else will post it
(or Danielle will tell me tomorrow)...
- We will be videotaping the jury before their Tuesday dinner in a
casual roundtable format. We hope to capture candid discussion about
the state of sustainable design in architecture. BuildingGreen.com is
interested in using short segments on its site.
- The jury interviews will be audio taped and still photographed.
These elements will be used for a short montage for June 2.
- Speaking of...we are a go for an awards reception at Daniels Recital
Hall on June 2. More on this soon...we'll need lots of event planning
brains.
May 5 assignments & needs:
- Bertha Knight Landes setup: Sonya (audio); Jack (slideshow); Ellen,
Jared, Margaret (general); Danielle (registration)
- Westin setup (gallery): Kerry? David W?
- We need some volunteers to help setup the gallery at the Westin.
Danielle may split some time b/w venues, but 3-4 more folks would make
it a fast process.
- Decision pending for videographer, still photographer(s) and
moderator of real-time People's Choice commentary.
- Sonya is preparing bullets for shortlisted projects (to introduce
each project)
Promotions:
- Please promote! I'm posting a JPG in the files section for sharing
with colleagues and friends. AIA Seattle also has postcards at their
office. If you can distribute some, please stop by and grab some.
We'll also bring some to Friday's meeting.
Next meeting:
- Friday. Every Friday. NBBJ. 8 a.m. David Mount has promised to grind
the coffee by hand!
- We will continue to identify assignments and needs...so please help
us line up the logistics.
THANKS, Jared.
