Dear colleagues,
Apologies for cross-posting.
I am writing to share an international study on the use of AI specifically in museum social media practices and digital communication, conducted by me (Open University of Cyprus) and Dr Cassandra Kist (University of Strathclyde).
The study focuses on how AI is used, experienced, and negotiated in everyday communication work, including content creation, audience engagement, and decision-making across social media and digital channels.
Given the focus of the AI4LAM community, we would be particularly interested in perspectives from colleagues who are actively engaging with AI in these areas, as well as those who are critically reflecting on its use or choosing not to use it.
We are currently inviting museum professionals to take part in a short (5–10 minute) anonymous survey exploring:
• how AI is used (or not used) in social media and digital communication practice
• how it is experienced and interpreted in everyday work
• how decisions around AI are made in communication workflows

At the end of the survey, participants may also indicate interest in a follow-up interview, which aims to explore these experiences in greater depth within specific professional and institutional contexts.
We would be very grateful if you might also consider sharing this with colleagues working in communication, social media, or digital engagement roles.
Many thanks in advance for your time and support, and we would be very happy to share findings with the community.
With best wishes,
Sophia Bakogianni & Cassandra Kist
