The AI4LAM Speech-to-Text Working Group invites you to its next meeting on Tuesday, March 24 at 09:00 US-Pacific | 12:00 US-Eastern | 16:00 UK | 17:00 Central Europe | 03:00 +1 Canberra.
(Note that the offset between North America and Europe is unusual this week. So the meeting will be an hour earlier than usual for Europeans.)
Our topic: Different Accessibility Use Cases for ASR
In recent meetings, our working group has begun outlining a guide to decision-making and best practices for speech-to-text in the LAM community. However, we have not been foregrounding accessibility for users with disabilities. This month we'll focus on how
decisions about ASR affect accessibility for users who are deaf or hard of hearing.
This month, Drew Robarge from the Smithsonian Institution will lead us with an overview of some accessibility use cases for ASR and audio transcription. We'll proceed to discuss how this information should be integrated into the guide we're creating.
Cheers,
Owen
