The AI4LAM Speech-to-Text Working Group invites you to its next meeting on Tuesday, January 27 at 09:00 US-Pacific | 12:00 US-Eastern | 17:00 UK | 18:00 Central Europe | 03:00 +1 Canberra.
Topic: Speech-to-Text Working Group, Overview and Trajectory
For our first meeting of 2026, we will re-introduce the Speech-to-Text Working Group, review our activities from 2025, and plan a trajectory for 2026.
Whether it will be your first time or you're a regular, this meeting is for anyone in the LAM space who works with systems for creating textual representations of speech (e.g., transcripts or captions).
Speech-to-text involves lots of challenges -- from the computing requirements, to dealing with linguistic diversity, to record-keeping of the output, to human editing and quality assurance. We would especially appreciate your attendance if you think this group
could help you meet challenges in your work, or if you're in a position to help support speech-to-text efforts in the larger community.
Cheers,
Owen
(on behalf of the Speech-to-Text WG conveners)
