We are excited to announce the MRS Young Pioneer Session, proudly supported by Amazon, as a featured part of IEEE MRS 2025 (
https://www.sutd.edu.sg/mrs2025/). This special session will spotlight a select group of outstanding early-career researchers in multi-robot and multi-agent systems. Integrated into the single-track program, it offers a prestigious opportunity for pioneers to present their research and vision to the entire MRS community.
Objectives • Highlight breakthrough research and future directions from early-career leaders
• Provide a platform for extended presentations in front of the full MRS audience
• Strengthen connections between pioneers, established leaders, and peers in the MRS community
Session format • Each pioneer delivers a 15-minute presentation + 5 minutes Q&A
Application processApplicants are required to submit the following materials to

subject line [YPS Application] Your Full Name: • Cover Letter (1 page): Motivation and fit with MRS
• Research Statement (2 pages): Key contributions, ongoing projects, and future vision
• Curriculum Vitae (with a full publication list)
Applications will be reviewed by the MRS Young Pioneer Committee. Selection will be based on research excellence, innovation potential, and diversity across topics and backgrounds.
Eligibility • Applicants must be PhD candidates who expect to graduate by the first half of 2026, or early-career researchers who obtained their PhD within the last five years.
• Applicants must not hold positions at the level of Associate Professor or above, or equivalent ranks in research institutions or industry.
• Applicants must be able to attend IEEE MRS 2025 in person with a full registration. Each selected pioneer will receive a travel grant of up to $500, made possible through the generous support of Amazon.
