Dear colleagues,
We are pleased to announce a Call for Short Talks for the workshop: “Embodied Agents – Embodied Robotics and Human–Machine Interaction: Anthropological and Ethical Perspectives”, organised as part of the Paris Conference on AI & Digital Ethics (PCAIDE 2026).
📍 Mines Paris – PSL Research University 📅 11–12 June 2026
🔍 Workshop focusThis workshop explores the philosophical, anthropological, ethical and legal implications of embodied robotics, with a particular emphasis on the unity of body and mind as a foundational framework for understanding human action, skill and agency. We are interested in how embodied robotic systems—including collaborative robots, humanoid platforms, bio‑inspired machines and exoskeletons—interact with human motion, autonomy and relational dynamics in professional, medical and everyday contexts.
🧭 Topics of interest include (non‑exhaustive):- Human–machine interaction and autonomy in embodied systems
- Embodied skills, situated action and human agency
- Ethical risks related to anthropomorphism and biomorphism
- Human‑centred design and mutual adaptation between humans and machines
- Technical standards, organisational practices and legal frameworks for embodied robotics
- Case studies in industrial, medical, artisanal or safety‑critical contexts
🎙️ FormatThe workshop will feature:
- Invited keynote talks
Short talks (10 minutes)
Short talks are intended to present ongoing research, conceptual perspectives, case studies or critical reflections, rather than fully developed papers.
👉 Submission & participationA brief abstract is required to propose a short talk
Proposals will be reviewed by the workshop organisers
Notification of acceptance will be sent on 20 May 2026
Registration is required to attend the workshop (for both speakers and attendees)
We warmly encourage contributions from robotics, human factors, philosophy, ethics, law and social sciences and particularly welcome interdisciplinary perspectives.
We look forward to your participation and to stimulating discussions in Paris.
Best regards,
Sotiris Manitsaris
