SIGMOD/PODS 2026 India Fellowships

We are pleased to announce the availability of SIGMOD/PODS 2026 India Fellowships for attending the SIGMOD/PODS 2026 conference. This is the premier international conference in the area of data management, and will be hosted in Bengaluru during May 31 - June 5, 2026.

The SIGMOD/PODS India fellowship is intended to support participation in SIGMOD 2026 by researchers (including students, postdocs and faculty) from India, who study or work in India, in the areas covered by SIGMOD/PODS. Applicants who have carried out advanced development in areas covered by SIGMOD/PODS, evidenced by artifacts such as open source projects, are also welcome to apply.

The fellowships are supported by generous sponsorships from several companies.

Fellowship Coverage

The fellowship will cover a part of the costs associated with attending SIGMOD 2026. Specific details regarding the extent of financial support will be communicated to selected recipients, which will be based on the number of applicants and the available funding. We expect to cover a major part of the registration cost but applicants will need to cover the remaining part of the cost themselves.

Eligibility

• Participants must be researchers (including students, postdocs and faculty) who work in the areas covered by SIGMOD 2026. Applicants who have carried out advanced development in areas covered by SIGMOD/PODS, evidenced by artifacts such as open source projects, are also welcome to apply.
• Applicants must be from India, and studying or working in India.

Deadlines

The deadline for the application is 16th March, 2026, 23:59 IST.

Applicants will be notified by 26th March 2026, enabling them to register before the early bird registration deadline of 31 March 2026.

Applicants must register online within the deadline specified in the notification. If they miss the deadline, the fellowship may be forfeited.

Interested applicants can apply for the fellowship by filling out the application form available at the link below. Via the form, applicants must provide details establishing the applicant's past/current work related to research or advanced product development in areas covered by SIGMOD/PODS.
