Launching the AI-BRIDGES Open Forum meetings for 2026-2027 academic year

Dear all, 

I hope this finds you all well and rested after the summer. 

We are excited to re-launch our second year of AI-BRIDGES Open Forum meetings!
Meetings will be held throughout the coming academic year from September 2026 till June 2027 (with the exception of December), on the last Friday of every month at 15:00 UK time. These meetings are a space to share ideas, practices and thoughts on anything related to Institutional Data, Wikidata & Wikibase, and AI platforms. 

Our coming meeting is next Friday, September 25th, at 15:00 UK time.

On the agenda are 3 items, each including a short presentation followed by a Q & A and discussion: 

1) Updates on AI-BRIDGES development: Introducing the Synthetic Reasoning Corpus developed by Pleias, thanks to the support of WMCH. 

2) Guest presentation #1: "Linked Open Tools for Cultural Heritage: Connecting Wikimedia and European Public Infrastructures" - by Dr Lozana Rossenova.

3) Guest presentation #2: "Wikibase as platform for collaborative and FAIR research data management" - by Dr. David Lindemann.

A short bio of both guest speakers is available below. 

We already have a fabulous line-up of speakers who will be joining us for the coming few months, but it's a good opportunity to also remind everyone that if you are doing relevant work that could be featured here (or know of people who's work is relevant), please let me know and we're happy to give it a stage.

Dr. Lozana Rossenova's short bio:

Dr Rossenova is a trained digital designer with practice- as well as research-based experience in conceptualising, managing and delivering projects in the fields of cultural heritage, digital preservation, multimedia publishing and knowledge infrastructures. She holds a PhD from the Centre for the Study of the Networked Image at London South Bank University. Dr Rossenova is currently a Post-doctoral researcher at the Open Science Lab, TIB Leibniz Centre in Hanover, Germany. Her position combines Team Lead role for the Wikibase4Research service, developed in the context of NFDI4Culture – the German national consortium for research data on material and immaterial cultural heritage; as well as Scientific Lead role for the ECHOLOT project, part of the European Culture Cloud initiative funded by HORIZON Europe.

Dr. David Lindemann's short bio: 

David Lindemann is a researcher and lecturer at EHU University of the Basque Country, Dept. of Linguistics and Basque Studies. After a PhD in computational lexicography, he has worked in different projects about LOD, involving lexical, bibliographical, and Cultural Heritage data. He has helped to set up and populate a variety of Wikibase instances, and is contributing to Wikidata. David is currently co-chairing the DARIAH-EU Working Group DHwiki, and is involved in CLARIAH-EUS.
