(apologies for posting twice doe to title error!)
Dear all,

Thanks to everyone who were able to join our April meeting on Friday, especially our presenters,  Helen Williams & Prof. Christof Schöch.

A recording is available here, as well as a link to the playlist that will host all future meetings. An AI short summary is below.

If there are any questions to Helen & Christof, please feel free to simply ask in this thread, as well as share any resources or cases you come across that may be of relevance.

Please note -- next month we will be meeting at the AI-BRIDGES Symposium physically (please register if you haven't already!), so our next online meeting will take place June 26th at 15:00Link to calendar invite hereWe will be hosting Jason Evans & Lozana Rossenova, followed by an update on the pipeline / workflow design process for institutions sharing data.

As always, a more elaborate information on the presentations and presenters will be shared, with a reminder, a week before the session, but do expect some updates on the Symposium before that. :)

Looking forward to seeing some of you in person next month!
Shani.

AI short summary:
The April AI Bridges Open Forum meeting focused on hearing experiences from two presenters about working with Wikidata and Wikibase in academic and library settings.
Helen Williams from LSE shared her challenges implementing Wikidata projects, including data protection concerns, technical difficulties with data upload processes, and the lack of concrete impact metrics to justify the work. Prof. Christof Schöch from Trier University presented three digital humanities projects that combined linked open data with machine learning, demonstrating the potential for federated queries between Wikibase and Wikidata instances. The discussion highlighted ongoing challenges including the complexity of data upload processes, difficulties with federation between systems, and the need for better tools and documentation. Shani then reminded people of the process for designing a workflow for institutions' data sharing, based on Wikimedia Brasil's work. The work on that will resume after the Symposium, and Shani will share updates on that in the June meeting.
