You may have a lot of documents typed using in Barahadirect or Nudi  which u may want to use for publishing online or use it as Email content, but when u copy and paste it in to the window, u will see that text will turn unreadable ( in many cases u wont notice this useful- reason being ur system has the True type font needed to display the ANCII encoded text). What the reader of ur mail or webcontent see will be totally unreadble mess.

U can use the online Ascii to unicode conversion tool attached with this mail and generate Unicode text for ur application. Some text may have been displayed incorrectly, but it's a minor issue as I have found out , u can use find and replace to correct it easily.

Use the tool and u will begin to like it. just copy Kannada content from ur word file , paste in the box, hit convert, u are done.

Sir, nice to know you found the useful tool created by Aravind - a friend of mine. I have been using this since it was created.

Also, BARAHA has a conversion tool which can be used from ASCII to Unicode or vice versa. Latest versions of baraha are not free. However, the conversion tool is available in earlier free releases and we can grab one such version and use it.

Thanks for sharing.

Actually there is a GO issued long back stating that all official communication should be done using Unicode 6.0 but we still are sticking to Nudi! Have posted that in KVA forum as well. We need to switch soon. Saw your office letters are still in Nudi :)

Kannada & Culture Department has come out with a Unicode Kannada typing tool which I couldn't test so far.
