Subject: Lost dogs

There have been some dogs running around Rex Road and Dangler Road area since Thursday. My friend did pick them up today and has them at her house. One is a French Bulldog and the other is a Cocker Spaniel. They have collars on but no tags and they are very friendly. If someone is missing these dogs please call Anny Bradshaw at 407-654-3265 or cell 407-575-5979. Or you can call Rena at 321-228-7095. These dogs are well fed and friendly so I am assuming they are lost. French Bulldogs have to be watched because they can't regulate their temperature very well and cannot get overheated. Can you please pass this around to the homeowners.
Thanks
Melissa Tressler

Subject: Wild Pigs

AHPOA,

There have been wild pigs and yard damage recently around Lake Avalon. The nuisance pigs show up after dark and literally plow up entire sections of the yard in search of grubs, worms, etc.. Even though these are categorized as feral pigs – the FWC, and Orange County will not take any action. So once again, we the homeowners, have to fend for ourselves. We have hired (and paid) a trapping company (Trapline) to come out to our address to help get rid of them. They claim for 2 weeks they will run dogs in our area, followed by setting traps to help capture the pests. The pigs are mainly active is during the night, so that is when the trappers will be running the dogs,  so don’t be surprised if you hear them.

These pigs are VERY destructive  - they rooted up a 20’ X 80’ area in less than 1 night, basically removing all of the recently installed (within 1 year) St. Augustine. They have also rooted up an area along the lakeshore along the entire SW corner of the lake.

We could use help from all of our neighbors and the neighborhood to help get these under control.

Sincerely,

Jeff and Wendi
2813 Williams Rd.

We have the pigs also 2829 and 2905 Williams Road, we have had trappers out who have caught one and we never heard from him again.  We have another trapper we are contacting but haven’t gotten connected with him.

They did an immeasurable amount of damage in our yard, and we have done many things to try and deter them which doesn’t work they just keep it up.  We will be at Avalon the middle to end of February and would like to see if you have any progress with the trappers you have.

Thanks,
Larry Eldridge

There were 3 sows, 1 boar and 12 piglets about a month ago on my property. I have seen them several times on our property since then. They are destructive. about 12 days ago a trapper named Josh from Winter Garden came through my property around 9:30 pm with his dogs looking for them. Afterward, I did see one sow with about 6 piglets (growing to maturity).
I thought that most of the hogs were captured until I saw this email.
Saturday night Wayne Salicrup came through with two colleagues and 3 dogs. We talked about 5 minutes and he left me his business card. He is at wdstr...@cfl.rr.com
His number is 407 970-5645.

My next door neighbor wants to hunt them and eat them. He said he can get a permit if he gets permission to hunt them by the grove owner on the north side of Lake Avalon.
