This is a critical moment for global health financing. Aid is declining, fiscal budgets are tightening in low- and middle-income countries, and multilateral institutions are facing repeated calls for reform. A constructive dialogue on sustainable solutions is needed now more than ever.
This event brings together leading experts and policymakers to explore feasible solutions to the current global health financing crisis. The discussion will center on how major global health and development institutions, and their funders, can allocate resources more strategically and effectively. This includes reforms to global health initiatives, opportunities for greater collaboration with multilateral development banks, options for domestic resource mobilization such as health taxes, and a proposed “New Compact” between donors and governments.
