Subject: Action MAY be required: re-engagement about date change for ACP-2022-102 (CAELUS N1 route in Grampian Region)

Dear Stakeholder,

Thank you for you input so far on ACP-2022-102 re N1 RPAS trial for Project CAELUS in Grampian Region of Scotland. We have recently completed a re-engagement exercise and have noted your response, however, administrative hurdles mean that we have to adjust the potential flying window and instead of September – October 2024 attempt our operations in October-December 2024. There are no any operational or duration adjustments compared to the materials you have already seen. The only change in the proposal is that the 20 flying days are sought during a window of opportunity later in the year.

We still have all your views and opinions duly noted, so on this occasion we specifically ask you to respond to this email mainly if:

  • You had objections previously, but new dates mean the proposal does not affect you as much
  • You had no objections previously, but new dates mean you might be negatively affected
  • You have not responded previously or have an important update to share

Subject to CAA Approval our ideal start date for the 20 days of flying is on 21st October 24. See previous engagement material attached for your information, but we would like to highlight that the intention is still to operate weekdays only between 0800-1000 L and 1500-1730L.

We also note that we have agreed to only operate if cloud base is 2000 ft or higher for Elgin – Inverness route and 2500 ft or higher for Aberdeen – Elgin route (as reported by METARS at nearby airports). We are cognisant that weather and daytime might significantly reduce the amount of our operations

All in all, the potential period of operation is the only change to what has been communicated previously for this ACP, but we would like to keep you informed.  If you have any comment please reply to this email by 17:00 on 9th August 2024.

Best wishes,

Alex
