Hi all,
Had a great weekend with the champion cattle beast at Forfar and good
prices and managed to get a wee bit of flying in yesterday.
Anyway finally got around to reading the local paper and there was
this wee article abouts ghosts and myths of the the angus glens. It
goes
"The hills above Loch Brandy dominate the Glen (Clova) and for various
reasons the residents of Clova living below had reasons to be fearful.
Until a couple of hundred years ago the loch and the corrie above were
believed to be a favourite meeting place for the Glens witches, who
would sometimes commute presumably by broomstick, to nearby summits.
When witches were discredited all over Scotland this fear was
transferred to their ghosts. However, a much bigger cause for concern
is the Wiches Crack, a fissure near the brink of the crags which is
allegedly growing larger."
Anyway, should this crag slip will we as "congegrating witches" be
burnt at the stake or put in the ducking stool by the remaining
residents that survive?
Take care
Scott
