Please be aware that my email account was hacked this morning, sending out the identical message (about being mugged in London and needing cash) that was sent out by another hacker ealier this week in the name of one of this group's members.  I did NOT send this email, am not in London, and do not need money, at least not this way.

BUT please be aware that if you are targeted by this group, the process they are following to get your email contacts will also wipe out your address book and all your email folders.  If you do not have them backed up personally, they are not retrievable by your ISP or email provider.  The hacking process deletes them and they no longer exist.

May I suggest that each of you change your passwords on all email accounts you own?  No one needs to have to go through this kind of grief.  And if it DOES happen to you, when you call to try to resolve it, go ahead and ask for "advanced tech support" - the first-tier folks do not know what to do to even begin to resolve issues like this.

I apologize for any inconvenience to anyone who received this erroneous message, but it has cost me a lot of grief and half my workday.  Not only have I BEEN hacked - I AM hacked!

Miriam
