Dear Southeast Regional Association members:

 

Greetings!  I trust that you have all made it through the hectic holiday season and that all is well with you and your families.  It's time to look toward 2011 and to the exciting activities we have on the drawing board for the new year for our professional association.

 

First, in an effort to tie up a few "loose ends" from 2010 before moving forward, I have attached the following email I received from Denise Vadnais, who has served as a founding leadership member of the Southeast Association from its beginnings, as well as in the Georgia State Association prior to that, and several years on the AHDI Board of Directors.

Miriam,

 

It has come to my attention that I neglected to pay my AHDI dues this past year and my membership has lapsed.  Based on this fact and the fact that with my new and current job responsibilities, I am unfortunately not going to renew my membership at this time.  I looking at the benefits of AHDI and AHIMA membership, I feel that an AHIMA membership would be more beneficial to me as an account manager and I cannot afford both memberships. 

 

Unfortunately, this means that I will not be able to serve the southeast region and my nomination for Secretary/Treasurer is null.  I am truly sorry about this as the southeast region is very important to me.  I will continue to attend meetings as a nonmember and support the board and membership in any way that I am able.

 

Please feel free to forward my email in whole or in part to whomever you feel should know.

Our former board email address is not working at this time.  Until we get a new one established, please feel free to contact me and I will pass your remarks, questions, etc., on to the other board members.  We will keep you in the loop as we get our calendar established and launch new strategies and activities that will promote strength and professionalism among our colleagues in Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, and Tennessee.  These will center around member development, credentialing, advocacy, and education.  Please feel free to share with us any ideas you may have of ways we can draw others into our group.
