With Wi-Fi Easy Connect, a network owner chooses one device as the central point of configuration. Usually this device is one with a rich user interface, such as a smartphone or tablet, but could be any device capable of scanning a QR code, NFC tag, or downloading device information from the cloud and running the protocol developed by Wi-Fi Alliance. The chosen device is considered a configurator and all other devices are enrollees. The user establishes a secure connection to an enrollee device by scanning the device-specific QR code, NFC tag, or downloading information from the cloud associated with that device. This prompts the protocol to run and automatically provisions the enrollee with the credentials needed to access the network.

A device can be seamlessly added to the network with near zero touch or true zero touch methods. Near zero touch provisioning and configuration can be done using a QR code. True zero touch provisioning and configuration can be done by downloading device information into the configurator from the cloud. The user simply powers up the device and it is automatically connected to the network.

No. Wi-Fi Easy Connect allows for a device to systematically discover and re-engage in the configuration process with the configurator to receive updated network configuration information. This is especially useful for IoT devices with a limited user interface (UI) or where a device may be installed in a hard-to-reach location.

Yes, Wi-Fi Easy Connect supports enterprise provisioning using WPA3-Enterprise security, requiring EAP-TLS authentication. When using EAP-TLS, clients and servers mutually authenticate using X.509 certificates. With Wi-Fi Easy Connect, the enrollee should receive its certificate when provisioning occurs.

Yes, Wi-Fi Easy Connect supports multiple configurators on a network. One advantage of multiple configurators is for backup and restore of a network. If one of the configurators is not available, another can be used to configure new devices and maintain configuration of the current network.

If the home or office uses a single access point to provide more than one network, Wi-Fi Easy Connect can be used to add one or more networks on the access point. The Wi-Fi Easy Connect protocol would need to be run independently to add each network.

There is no limit to the number of devices a configurator may provision for a network, unless the network itself has connection limitations. Additionally, Wi-Fi Easy Connect enables bulk enrollment of Wi-Fi devices.

How big is your house? I use to not beable to connect stuff on the other side of my house untill I got me a router with satellites that I plug in. Not sure if thats your issue but you might think about it.

Thanks both. Will have a read about both those things. But why would it impact one printer but not the other? They sit next to each other on the desk. They are both within 3ft of a satellite. I use the Orbi mesh wifi system.

I have a similar issue: X1C connected to router and internet, no problem for two months. Now it connects to the router, but not to the internet. Other devices, computer, iPad, and phone all connect to router and internet with no issues. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Here are one ways to remove saved Wi-Fi networks on your iPhone, depending on whether you want to delete a single network or all of them. To delete all saved Wi-Fi networks (and other network settings):-

hi im having issues with my EOS R50, im not able to connect to it on my pixel 7 running android 14. bluetooth is fine but when i attempt to connect over wifi to transfer pictures it justs give me connection failed. ive run through all the tips on here to attempt to fix everything short of having to reformat my phone which i feel is a little unnecessary.

ive run on the latest cannon firmware for the camera and the cannon connect app and still unable to wifi connect for any of the features. I've hard wiped any Bluetooth and wifi settings on my phone to see if that would help but to no avail. any help would be greatly appriecated.

So it appears that the issue is fixed with the newest update. In the top right corner menu it has a security section now that allows you to change from wpa3-personal to wpa2-personal and it allows the connection between the phone and camera now. I havnt had a chance to truely dig into how stable the connection is due to work at the moment but thankfully it appears it is now working as it was intended.

I am having the exact same problem. It worked great about two weeks ago and tonight it does not work. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app. Turning the phone off and on. Resetting my camera. Updating the firmware. Removing the Bluetooth and readding. Turned my router off and on. I keep getting the message "Cannot connect to Wi-FI. Please try again later."

No I have found no resolution to the issue. Canon blames Google, Google says it's up to the app dev to make sure it works the way it should. I've kinda given up hope. If I need to grab a Pic I'll use a type c to c and import or just wait till I'm home

Sorry to hear that you are also having issues with a Google Pixel device. Over the past month there has been an explosion of new forum members looking for help with the Google Pixel smart devices. Apparently, there was an update to the smart device OS, and it disabled or otherwise blocked the Canon app, as well as numerous others. What used to work perfectly, suddenly does not.

U shouldn't have to pickup a new product. Canon should be updating the app to help counter any issues with the app compatibility with phones. Google might have impliment something that broke that functionality but it's canons duty to find away to correct it since going in and fixing it on Google end might break more. If they can't fix the function then put a warning in the app saying there's an issue with the app compatibility with pixels and some functionality might be nonfunctional.

@dpart77 Who is your cell service provider? I have Verizon and can view all 10 of my cameras from anyplace I have a cell signal, One mile away or one thousand miles away makes no difference. I am using an iPhone SE2020

However, the cams get a lot of changes so they are less stable from constant bug creation due to changes. Thus, will be bound not work at times for various reasons. So, ultimately nothing special here.

That is unusual, at least in my experience. I have been able to connect from Budapest on the Danube River and most recently all over Israel. I was amazed how easy it was to check on the house while being so far away. Even events were playable.

Curious to see if it works from Wi-Fi somewhere else, just to rule in/out the cellular attribute. Also try from a computer if you subscribe to CamPlus. That takes the phone and app out of the equation.

Hi @user75540. You do not need a Ring Alarm Base Station in order to use Ring Cameras. You will connect the Cameras to the WiFi router in the home you are installing them in. This Help Center page has setup guides for each individual type of Camera.

Hi. I have a Jobsite Ring alarm base station and cameras. I have installed the stick up cam using my home internet and took the Jobsite items to the site and now my camera shoes as offline. We only use the backup internet at our jobsites. How do I connect the cam to the base station? Hope you can reply.

Hello,

I was able to connect my Netgear AC1200 Model EX6120 WiFi Range Extender to the mywifiext setup page with no problems until recently. I recently changed my SSID name but this problem preceded that.

I have tried connecting to the AC1200 via WiFi and RJ45 cable. In both cases I am redirected to the "You are not connected to your extender's WiFi network" page instead of the WiFi Range Extender setup page. The AC1200 Router, Power, and Device lights are green and the 2.4 and 5.0 EXT networks show up. I log onto the 2.4EXT network and try to connect to the mywifiext setup page but keep getting the "not connected" page.

I have tried holding the reset button in for 7 seconds but that doesn't seem to help. I have a Windows 10 Home 64 bit system. Any suggestions to resolve this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

John

You are a star, plemans. Your first suggestion worked. I held the reset button in and it started to blink at about 5 seconds. This time I didn't release it at 7 seconds as I did before. I held it for 25 seconds. For the first time NETGEAR_EXT showed up as a network option. I logged on and tried to go to the mywifiext page but it still would not load. I then tried 192.168.1.250 and it worked! I was then able to complete the extender's setup. Thank you so much for your kind help.

When I tried to connect using the printer, I would find the network on the printer. Tell it to connect. Wouldn't. So I reset the printer to factory settings. Tried to connect. Wouldn't. Printer doesn't ask for a password, just tries to connect after selecting network and tells me it cannot connect. Finally I tried turning of the 5Ghz on the M5. Now it would connect. Great. Then some things happened and I had to rename my network. So I tried to setup the printer again. Factory settings. Turn of 5Ghz. No connection.. Same problem. It won't ask for the WiFi password. Just tries to connect and then says it is not able to connect.

So once you have connected the printer, can you turn everything back on without a problem? I did on one of the printers and it stayed connected. But can I expect that it will stay connected now, no matter what?

@TP-Link I am having the same problem with my Deco X60. I tried connecting after disabling the fast roaming and beamforming on the deco app, but it didn't connect. When I connected to the guest network it worked but I can get it to connect to the main network. Can you please advise.

I turned-on my Square Terminal last night (Sept 18, 2019) and it started a system update. After the update, my Terminal could no longer connect to my wifi router. I had been connecting to the 2.4 GHz radio with no problems for the past few days. It was only after the update that there was a problem. There is a timeout error.
