NAKASEC Immigrant Rapid Response Plan
Mental Health Service Providers Needed
The National Korean American Service & Education Consortium (NAKASEC) and its
affiliates the Korean Resource Center (KRC) in Los Angeles and Orange County, the Hana Center in greater Chicago and NAKASEC Virginia (NAKASEC-VA) have implemented an Immigrant Rapid Response Plan to assist Korean and Asian American community members in crisis and in need. Founded in 1994, NAKASEC’s mission is to organize Korean and Asian Americans to achieve social, economic and racial justice.
To support immigrant community members being attacked by the Trump administration, NAKASEC launched a Rapid Response Plan in January 2017 which
includes a 24-hour Rapid Response Hotline. This hotline is being answered by trained
culturally and linguistically competent staff and volunteers. To support community
members who call, NAKASEC is creating a referral list of mental health providers who
are willing to offer pro-bono sessions to Korean and Asian American immigrants.
Mental Health Services NAKASEC seeks to provide mental health services that are culturally competent, bilingual, and provided in person or online (skype, zoom, facetime, etc.).
