Dr. Grace Tomas-Tolentino leads a discussion on the impact of trauma and the significance of trauma-informed care. Traumatic events including experiences of interpersonal violence and catastrophic events can have a complex and lasting consequences and necessitates interventions. Discussion on the community’s reaction to the current political atmosphere is also deemed appropriate.

Speaker Bio
Dr. Grace Tomas-Tolentino is the founder and director of Core Psychotherapy Center, a group private practice in Schaumburg IL. She works with survivors of childhood abuse and neglect, sexual assault, intimate partner violence, and sex trafficking. She specializes in the treatment of PTSD, dissociative disorders, and its comorbid disorders. She offers individual psychotherapy and facilitates psychotherapy groups for survivors of childhood sexual abuse. Dr. Tomas-Tolentino is certified in clinical hypnosis through the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis. She is a board member of the International Society for the Study of Trauma & Dissociation Northwest Illinois Group. She offers trainings and consultations to mental health professionals.
