I was browsing Thingiverse for the first time in awhile, looking for laser-related projects.  The first thing that caught my attention was this!
Might be a nice little addition / incentive to your Arduino classes.  I think I saw some cool colors of ABS filament down there.  :)

Neat looking. 

My guess is it will take 4-5 hours to print each one and clean up the parts for assembly. If you wanted to make a bunch, it would probably be better/faster to make a mold with the 3D printer and then fill it with resin.

Feel free to use the colored filament if you like, I just ask you drop some cash in the backroom/laser donation jar.

Also the bolts/nuts they use (if you need them) are in a box in my locker (#1). I have various lengths in there. If any boxes run-out, let me know and I'll replace them.
