Hi Everybody,

I'll keep it short and sweet. We're fucking up the planet and we have a mild list of consequences to deal with currently but they will get much, much worse over the years.

I'm wondering if anybody else here would be interested in creating an event(possibly hackathon style) wherein we focus on the following subjects:

1. Ways to reduce our impact on the climate and environment
2. Ways to reverse our impact on the climate and environment
3. Identifying which resources are more prone to scarcity in the near-term future
4. Identifying lists of open or closed technologies that individuals could conceivably build today that might make the coming years easier in terms of cooperation, resource gathering or anything related to the scarcity we'll face

I would really like this to be a research group more than a single event, but my time is limited and this is what I can afford.

Is anybody else interested?

I'm interested in learning more. I'm also concerned about these issues. I'm especially interested in item #4.

<troll>p.s. Wasn't the blockchain supposed to solve all this?</troll>
