For the month of October our changes to the membership model go into effect. Although everyone gets a vote, it is worth mentioning especially as it changes lockers up.
I think your details of timing are correct. Neonate (Yost) volunteered to spin up the web app and Dotz is going to help, he done said.
The subreddit thing last time was a butt-bruising fiasco, but do you think it worthwhile to put up a platform for discussion?

Of course, we all got tied up in our feelings and such, and instead of
standing together and saying: "You know what? I don't like dickheads in
my community and you should stop that", we were weak.
As a platform, reddit is great, but like any other platform we use, if
people don't keep a level head and some foresight to pick out when to
bait trolls and when to actually talk about some real-talk, it's going
to turn in to a shit-storm.

The problem folks had with having our own subreddit was deciding that it must be a platform for chastising that didn't provide "truly free and anonymous" conversation, and a very vocal minority made a very direct attempt at hurting peoples' feelings.
Of course, we all got tied up in our feelings and such, and instead of standing together and saying: "You know what? I don't like dickheads in my community and you should stop that", we were weak.

I think a platform for discussion of what someone plans to do as a
