Hi,

We ran into an error and were looking for any suggestions on how to resolve. We have successfully ran our model for 48 out of 54 different scenarios (varying soil moisture and 2 parameterization files). These 48 scenarios had higher and lower rainfall depths compared to the 6 conditions that didn't work.  All 54 conditions have the same parameterization and duration, only the precipitation file conditions vary. We have received the following error, "forrt1: error (73): floating divide by zero", when executing the Kineros simulation. We have received this error for two different precipitation files while varying the moisture condition. Interestingly, the model has ran successfully for one specific soil moisture condition for for both precipitation files while failing for three other soil moisture conditions for both precipitation files.
Do you have any suggestions to troubleshoot this error?

Thanks,

- Evan

Hi Evan,
What is the time and date stamp of the K2.exe model executable? Try replacing the executable you have with the following: ftp://www-ftp.tucson.ars.ag.gov/cunkrich/k2_09Jan2020.zip. You'll need to replace the file in the directory of each scenario, and also in the \AGWA\models\ directory so that any new simulations you write use the new file.

If that doesn't work, can you provide the parameter, precipitation, and kin.fil files from the scenarios that crashed? We will likely have to debug the K2.exe to determine what's going on.

Shea,

Thanks for reaching out in a timely manner, I really appreciate it. I was able to get the model to run for the problematic conditions from before by rewriting the precipitation file and rerunning the model. I'll be sure to try the alternatives you suggested if I run into more issues. By the way, the executable was recent, 11/2020.

Thanks,

- Evan
