I have Windows 11 with dotnet SDK (6.0.4?) and ArcGIS with Spatial Analyst and I can't load AGWA. I've downloaded

AGWA 3.x Add-in for ArcGIS 10.8
Version: 3.10.0.2411

from

and unzipped it, showing as

AGWA Desktop Add In.esriAddIn

but it is missing the required (?) "X" at the end of this file name. Is this why it won't load?
  • Is there an incompatibility issue?
  • Is there another place I can download a more current file?
  • Should I try to load this on an older machine (Windows 10?)
Let me know as my colleague at University is having the same issue, and we need to get this sorted ASAP for a client. Thanks, Tom

Phil  <arizona.edu>  was trying to help but is out of the office. I'm going to try to reach ESRI customer service. In the meantime if anyone can help today, I'd greatly appreciate it. Here is a copy of the contents of my latest email to him yesterday:

I'm on a fully licensed trial, but I don't think I'm allowed to ask technical questions without paying. Thing is, I won't buy it if it doesn't work, and I need to know by tomorrow. Is there someone at EPA or ESRI that can help? Thanks Again, Tom - PS, here's some screenshots of the summary problem (or maybe it's just something else I'm missing..)

Apologies for the confusion and trouble, and appreciate the effort you took to troubleshoot, but as mentioned in the other post AGWA 3.x versions are created for ArcMap 10.x and not for ArcGIS Pro. Essentially, the answer to the question of "is it because the file format is .esriAddin and not .esriAddinX" is yes, that is the reason because .esriAddin files are for ArcMap 10.x and .esriAddinX files are for ArcGIS Pro. Also, renaming the extension will not work. The SDK for Pro is a different SDK than for ArcObjects in ArcMap, and the ArcObjects SDK wasn't brought forward into Pro.

It wasn't mentioned in the other reply, but the AGWA for ArcGIS Pro version will be released as a Python Toolbox.

Thanks, I understand!! Now, I'm trying to work with ESRI to get 10 loaded, but that doesn't seem possible right now..
