Hey Everyone,

I apologize that I haven't been up to date with sending these emails out. There are many factors involved with the lack of attention I've be able to give this matter. Creek Gallery is an event to celebrate artists of all backgrounds. The exhibition is at a large church with plenty of space to show work & perform.  This July, we are looking to showcase area artists in our space. If you are looking for an unconventional way to get your work seen by several thousand people each week, this event is for you.   
 
Artists of different faiths (or no faith) are encouraged to submit.
 
We're seeking art of all kinds (such as anything from manga, to sculpture to graffiti) and a variety of performers for our opening night event (think hip-hop, performance art, classical, rap).
 
Our goal is to promote the arts. There is no fee to submit and there is no commission taken from work sold. We do require that if your work is selected, you commit to the show by meeting all deadlines for delivery and pickup. We also need contributing artists to help with either hanging or take-down of the work.
 
This is a juried show. Please submit your work as soon as possible, as exhibition space and performance time slots are limited.
 
To submit. follow the guidelines below by June 22.

Visual Artists:
2D & 3D work is welcome for the exhibition. (i.e. painting/drawing, ceramics, photography, fiber, mixed media, etc.) Submit up to 3 JPG or GIF files sent in one, single email. The files should be 300 KB or smaller.
Artwork information should include: title, medium, dimensions, price. (& weight if sculpture or heavy wall piece.)
You are also encouraged to also send a link to your online portfolio.
Include your name, address & phone number.
 
Performance artists:
Submit links to up to 3 online videos of your work or three MP3 files in one email.
Also include a brief description of what you would perform during the opening night on July 12.
List your performance needs, such as space & time required, sound, outlets, lighting, etc.

Call for Proposals- INTERSTRUCT Deadline: 07/01/14 Type: Exhibition Opportunities [View all] Posted by: Lexington Art League Interstruct is a multi-site exhibition taking place in a number of spaces in Lexington, Kentucky, introducing artwork into non- art spaces, and investigating architecture, history, location, and context. Painting in the World: Reflections on Politics, Violence, and Reconciliation Deadline: 07/01/14 Type: Exhibition Opportunities [View all] Posted by: Northern Arizona University Art Museum In September 2014, the Northern Arizona University Art Museum will produce a juried exhibition of paintings created around inter-woven themes of politics, violence, and reconciliation. The NAU Art Museum believes that the global community faces a turning point today in which economic, environmental, and ethnic pressures threaten the integrity of whole societies. The Arab Spring, wars arising from religious extremism and, conversely, the efforts of many nations to maintain stable, consensual societies are among the themes we hope to address in this exhibition. “Painting in the World: Reflections on Politics, Violence, and Reconciliation” will be co-jurored by Dr. George V. Speer, Director of the NAU Art Museum and Dr. Eleanor Jones Harvey, Senior Curator, the Smithsonian American Art Museum in Washington, D.C. Gendering Desire: Liberation, Power, and Pleasure Deadline or Post Expiration: Tuesday, July 29, 2014 CALL FOR ENTRIES - WOMEN ARTISTS Gendering Desire: Liberation, Power, and Pleasure A Juried Exhibition of Art by Women Sponsored by the Koehnline Museum of Art and Women’s and Gender Studies at Oakton Community College.This year’s exhibition focuses on the ways gender influences desire. From food to the erotic, desire takes many different forms, and gender is implicated in the process—and this raises a number of interesting and provocative questions. How does genderand sexuality—and the power structures inherent in the construction of these identities—affect our experiences of passion and pleasure? Do patriarchal and heteronormative power structures suppress human desire? Can rigid binaries of male/female, gay/straight, be transformed into a more fluid, flexible, liberated experience of desire? How do we experience passion and pleasure beyond the sexual? Do women really love chocolate more than men? Is materialism and consumption, writ large, gendered? Oakton invites artists of all media – including performance artists—who self-identify as women, to submit a single work that thoughtfully explores not only how we express and experience pleasure and desire in the broadest sense, but also how differences of gender and sexuality may or may not affect our intimate lives and sexual relationships. The Wilderness Workshop’s Artist in Wilderness residency program invites applications for four one-week residences in 2014-15. Professional artists working in any medium of painting or drawing are welcome to apply. Two residencies will be held in the fall of 2014, and two will be held in early summer of 2015. The Wilderness Workshop will provide each selected artist with housing, a guide as required, a $1500 stipend, and reimbursement for travel to/from Aspen up to $1000 ($400 for Colorado residents). The University of Maine Intermedia MFA program, New Media Department and the Innovative Media Research and Commercialization Center (IMRC) are pleased to announce an open call for its Researcher in Residence program for the spring of 2015.

Residents will be selected from an open call based on the quality of the work or research being proposed, the availability of the necessary tools and skills to support the work, and the relation of the proposed statement of interest to the mission and activities of the IMRC, the Foster Student Innovation Center and/or the University of Maine. The deadline for the spring 2015 term is June 25.

Residents are granted a stipend of $5,000, studio space, 24/7 access to the IMRC Center’s state of the art facilities, a materials budget of $3,000, and support for travel costs to and from Orono, Maine.

Description: Pyramid Atlantic is proud to offer a three month residency opportunity for artists working in the field of printmaking, papermaking or book arts (or combination of). Artists of all career stages are encouraged to apply for this residency. Two artists per session are selected by Pyramid Atlantic’s artistic staff. Resident artists work in a productive community atmosphere alongside other artists, and are expected to be in the studio at least 15-20 hours per week. Technical assistance is not included in the residency, but is available at an additional cost.

Fall 2014 Studio Internship

Pyramid Atlantic offers internship opportunities four times a year to 2-4 enthusiastic, engaged, and serious-minded college or post-college artists. Our interns assist resident artists, renters, artistic staff, and with printmaking, papermaking and book arts projects. In addition to hands-on experience with artistic projects, interns gain an understanding of the day-to-day operation of a non-profit art center and gallery.

Typical intern tasks include: -Maintaining the studios for visiting artists, renters, and outreach events -Helping in the gallery with exhibition preparation, installation, and de-installation. -Assisting in the production of prints or handmade paper -Setting up and breaking down evening programs -Assisting with events preparation

Interns work for Pyramid Atlantic 10am-4pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays of each week. Candidates should have a strong interest in art, be highly motivated, and comfortable working within a studio environment. Interns, in exchange, are given an opportunity to work on their own art in a creative and unique environment alongside experienced art professionals. Additionally, interns will also participate in an edition exchange and free workshops. During their internship, interns are expected to work on their own art at least one day a week. The internship will culminate in a group exhibition.
