Whitdel Arts is currently accepting submissions for "Virtual Insanity." This exhibition will explore social media and how it manifests itself in our identities, relationships, and culture in ways that both bolster and separate us from one another and ourselves. Social media is a polarizing concept that has the ability to connect billions of people, perspectives, and cultures in ways that were never possible a few decades ago, but in the process are we losing touch with the sense of tactile reality previous generations had? Do we have too much access to each other, or perhaps not enough? Are you really a CEO, or just a busboy? Would you swipe right on the person you are versus the person you project? Constructing a virtual identity is a deliberate and planned process that in itself is an art. |
