The elevator is 45” deep, 53” wide, 83.5” tall, and has been repainted with historically appropriate green color scheme inclusive of the original deco motifs in gold and yellow. There is lighting and a working scissor gate. All of the original brass controls have been restored. The scale and siting of the elevator means that proposals could be for intimate audiences of as few as 1-3 people at a time, or for amplified performances shared with a larger audience via livestreaming, projections, or other means. Open to all artists residing within the U.S. working with the constructed image by means of handmade montage, collage, darkroom manipulation, computer manipulation, constructed and photographed tableaux or dioramas, and/or alteration of real scenes, etc. No size requirement. All works must be ready to hang. Work must have been created within the last 3 years.
