The upgrade to version 6.7 of the Percussion CMS within AgriLife is
complete!

IMPORTANT: Before you log back into the system:

1. Clear your browser cache (Shift-reload on most browsers) or use
preferred method

2. Clear your Java cache (go to http://first-call.tamu.edu in the FAQ
section and search "clear Java cache" for instructions)

----------------------

After you have completed the steps above, visit the same online
location you've always used to access the CMS.

The update has brought about a few changes in both look and feel and
functionality which include:

* New customized theming of the admin area

* New iconography for items within the CMS, assisting in visual
navigation of files

* New 'Publish Item Now' Feature: This is the most dramatic change
form the previous version. Now, items and pages can be published on an
'as-you-go' basis, instead of having to wait and do grouped publish
runs. Simply change any item or page's status to 'Public', then upon
right-clicking you will see the 'Publish Item Now' option. Click on
this, and it will be SFTP'd to the server where your site resides.
(Reminder: You will still want to make sure thing like images that are
included as part of a page get published before the page itself).

* Nightly Automated Publishing: Every evening (or should I say
morning) at 1am, each site will be automatically published. That means
that anything with its status set to 'Public' and that has changed
since the last site published will be SFTP'd to the server where your
site resides. Will help if you're wanting to do a large scale publish
but not wanting to do it on a page-by-page basis, or if you've made
changes to the navigational structure of your site.

* Several behind-the-scenes enhancements that make life easier for our
IT partners and provide more stability and speed to the system itself.

I want to take a moment to thank those IT partners, Gene Curtiss and
Tom Lyster for overseeing a several month process of readying this
upgrade and for implementing it as they have. As Tom moves into a new
administrative role within IT, I want to sincerely thank him for all
he's done in the CMS thus far, and praise Gene for already proving to
be a fantastic partner to work with on our Percussion CMS initiative.

Please don't hesitate to utilize First Call to report any issues you
have with the new system or continue to use it to access support on
general use of the CMS.

Thanks,
Max
