Hello,

I’ve been encountering issues with my input files, where my simulation runs do not produce complete .OUT files (usually halting after the routing scheme summary). I’ve been using apex1501_debug.exe to troubleshoot, but I’m struggling to interpret the error messages (see an example screenshot below).

To debug, I’ve been systematically varying my parameters using the Backland Research Center input files as a baseline. Despite this, I’m having difficulty identifying the specific parameters or input files causing the issues.

I was wondering if there are any references or guides available that could help me better understand the debug error messages. Additionally, are there other tools or programs (besides the debug executable) that could help automate or simplify the troubleshooting process?

Thanks in advance,

Maya

Dear Maya,

Unfortunately, there is not a tool to debug the error. The debug version of the executable is one way to understand the error, but in this case it is not very informative. It is saying that the problem is on line 28 of subroutine BSUB. The problem is that it depends on the version of the model you are using. From the source code I have, it could be related to the maximum and minimum temperature in the monthly weather file. If this is the case, the problem can be created by the format used in the monthly weather file (WP1). Some versions of APEX1501 use a format with six characters for each month (column), while other versions use 10 characters for each column. The number of characters include the spaces.

Try modifying the format of the WP1 file (let me know if you need more information), and if the problem is not solved, I can run your simulation with the source code to pinpoint the cause of the error.

Hi Luca,

I was able to find my error – I had a formatting issue in my .dly causing wxpm-03082019 to miscalculate the wp1 data.

Thank you for the help!
