Welcome to the EPIC / APEX Modeling Question and Discussion Forum! This forum was created to facilitate questions and discussion regarding the EPIC or APEX models. We encourage users of all skills levels and all kinds of questions.
If you have a general question, try searching the forum's previous posts to see if the question has been posted before. Duplicate questions will be deleted.
The forum is moderated. Your post will have to be APPROVED by a moderator before it will post to the public for discussion, so don't worry if it doesn't appear right away, you do not need to submit the question again. The forum is moderated closely and your question will likely be live within the hour.
Once your question is posted, answers or discussion from members of the forum can be submitted. Scientists with the Blackland Research Center who work to develop these models will review your question and post their answers. Discussion is open to anyone within the forum, to encourage innovation and different perspectives on more complex problems. You may use the arrows on the side of each comment to vote "up" or "down" a response. Responses will the most "up" votes will be reviewed by the modeling team, and if they are deemed to be correct, will be marked BEST ANSWER and the thread will be closed.
We have just a few rules here to make everyone's experience the best possible:
1. USE SEARCH FIRST - Your question might have already been posted by someone else before. Try searching the forum first before you post. Duplicate questions will be deleted.
2. USE DESCRIPTIVE TITLES, BE SURE TO INCLUDE THE MODEL YOU ARE USING IN YOUR TITLE - Your topic title should be related to your question, to make searching and organization easier. Please DO NOT use titles like, "Help me" or "Question"
3. No Spam / Advertising / Self-promotion in the Forum - This forum defines spam as unsolicited advertisement for goods, services and/or other web sites or posts with little or completely unrelated content. Do not spam the forums with links to your site or product, or try to self-promote your website, business, or forums etc. (Unless the website can be shown to be relevant in the answering of a question.)
4. DO NOT POST OFFENSIVE OR OBSCENE MATERIAL - Any material which constitutes defamation, harassment, or abuse is strictly prohibited. Material that is sexually or otherwise obscene, racist, violent, or otherwise overly discriminatory is not permitted on these forums. This includes user pictures, comments, links, etc. If you violate this rule, you will be removed from the forum.
5. POSTS SHOULD REMAIN RESPECTFUL AT ALL TIMES - All posts should be professional and courteous. You have every right to disagree with your fellow community members and explain your perspective. However, you are not free to attack, degrade, insult, or otherwise belittle them or the quality of this community.
6. NO EMPTY POSTS / POWER POSTS - Power-posting is best described as posting empty and worthless messages. It is not tolerated. People may do this to lend support to an idea as if it were a vote. Examples of power-posting include, but are not limited to, replying with "+1", "Yes", "me too" or "I agree". When posting or replying to messages, make sure you have something to say. These empty posts clutter up threads and discussion, invalidate the 'Show New Posts' function, and waste bandwidth and server space.
Use the "up" vote or "down" vote options to make your opinion known instead when you feel you have nothing else to say.
