Registration for Land Degradation and Restoration Web Conference: Knowledge Needs and Gaps

Dear Governments, experts and stakeholders,
With reference to notification EM/2018/28 (04 December 2018) introducing the Web Conference on Land Degradation and Restoration Knowledge Needs and Gaps: https://www.ipbes.net/group/land-degradation-restoration, I would like to share with you the agenda and a further detailed concept note of the Web Conference: Agenda and Concept Note.
I would also like to use this opportunity to invite you again to participate in this Web Conference, which will be kicked-off by Assessment Co-Chairs Robert Scholes and Luca Montanarella on Monday January 14th at 14:30 CET.
Interested experts, policymakers, practitioners and other users of land degradation and restoration knowledge are warmly invited to register for the online conference, contribute to the discussions and inform the work of IPBES.
This web conference will build on the knowledge gaps identified in the IPBES Assessment Report on Land Degradation and Restoration in order to inform further research, policymaking and funding agencies, and to catalyze the generation of new knowledge.
The three-week web conference will take place from January 14th to February 4th, 2019:
- (January 14, 14:30 CET): Introductory webinar: Presentation of knowledge gaps identified by the Assessment and conference overview
- Week 1 (Jan 14–18): Identifying knowledge gaps: Invitation for feedback on knowledge gaps identified
- Week 2 (Jan 21–25): Prioritizing knowledge needs: Reflecting on knowledge needs in practice and policy
- Week 3 (Jan 28–Feb 1): Addressing knowledge needs: Seeking suggestions on how to address knowledge needs
- (February 4): Concluding webinar: Synthesis of contributions
