Dear Mr. Giri
I am rather feeling guilty of not giving my introduction earlier.
My name is CM VENUGOPAL, hailing from Chittur-Thekkegrammam, Palghat. Left native in 1965 and settled in Bombay, nay Mumbai. Started my career ina British Engineering company and after 21 years shifted to other companies like Godrej, Navair International, Nishutu Electronics, Evershine Builders and Cybermart International (in the last 3 firms as GM & Vice-President). Now I am fed up the Mumbai life and want to settle in South, preferably in Agraharam or in TamBrahmin locale.
Last month I went to Coimbatore and even reserved in Aarogya Kudumbam for a cottage.
The area is simply beautiful and have panaromic view of the Marudhamalai Hill on one side and Anaiketti on other. The only hiccup was distance from City, and the nearest shopping for soap and biscuits was 3 kms. That put me off. Then I went to Chittur (my village) after 40 years, and checked some of the houses which are over 100 years old. Though it was a nostalgia trip and brought lots of child hood memories and even met few old timers, all the houses need additional expenditures (and unfortunately I was told no Carpenters are ready to work and even if found, no guarantee that they will stay till completion). Then I got some contacts in Ponkunnum (Trichur), Palghat. And finally, by God'w willl may settle down in Thirulakadavu, Palghat (once returns from Sabarimalai).
My wife is a School Teacher, and one daughter and one son (none of them visited a village so far).. They are professionally qualified and well settled down.
In my next mail, I will detail about my experiences and expectations from our Agraharams, least this will be a very long mail.
Rgds to one and all.
CM VENUGOPAL
