nice to see so many like minded and interested peopld planning to come together.
i think we should have a definited route map defining a time plan with expected budgets drawn up so that all of us an idea of the shpae of things to develop. the route map is only an indication and of course there would be time delays and other contraints one faces . BUT A PLAN WOULD HELP.
MY SUGGESTION AND COMMENTS.

Your idea deserves appreciation. Now that the price of lands are
almost known, please come forward to suggest the maximum price one
would like to pay for the land. This will help in selecting the right
place for us. For example, we have to decide whether the land near
Muthalamada is suitable for us. I have given in the file both the
plus and minus points of the area. If this is not suitable for us, we
will have to search for some other lands having a higher price tag
near Brahmin agraharams. I was so far visiting areas having price tags
of Rs6000/= per cent or less.
If we move into an area having no Brahmin settlement, we may feel
isolated for some time. But once a number of families settle in, the
isolation naturally vanishes.
I do not know how many of you have seen the file I uploaded into the
home page. If any of you have difficulty in downloading it, I shall
send it as an attachment through mail.

1. Which homepage are you referring to ? Pls provide the URL for the same.
I am not able to connect with the google groups location though I am quite familiar with yahoo groups.
2. Regarding location, it is better to opt for a place close to a agraharam even if it costs more. Even if we get six committed participants, the cost per head will be Rs 2.5 lakhs for a 15L acre land.
Thx
Siva

You are right. It is better to be close to an existing agraharam. I
shall try to find out whether we can get such areas.
I look forward to hearing from others as well regarding this.

As Mr Giri has suggested let us soon respond to his request as to what should be our budget ???
I am willing to participate in the land search after the 10th of Dec'09 since I am planning to take a break from University activities.

Siva, V
In fact this land is not devoid of any settlement. Non Brahmins are
there around. There is even a modern house in the adjoining garden.
We can buy whatever is necessary for us. Mr TS Iyer from Madras says
that he has quite a few to buy the remaining land. They are probably
investors who would like to sell it for a higher price once we build
up our township.
I look forward to meeting you in December.
