I managed to inspect several properties in Palakkadu for our project
during the week end. Out of those, only one was appealing to me. But
there are no Brahmin settlements near by. It is about 5 kms from the
Pollachi state high way near Chulliar dam. The site is beautiful with
the majestic back drop of the Nelliampathy hills. Regular bus services
are available to the site. Chemmanampathy bus goes through the site.
The price is also reasonable. The demanded price is Rs 5500/= per
cent. Electricity, well and bore wells are there. It is a mango
garden. To construct buildings, we may have to slaughter the fruit
bearing trees. I shall post the details and photographs in the home
page in a few days' time.
The prices in Ayalur are high. So I have not seen any property there.
I explained our requirement to a Brahmin boy who is also a real estate
agent. He agreed to find a suitable property in areas like Perinkulam,
Kavassery, Alathur etc in a week's time. So let us wait for his
findings.

Glad to get an update from you.
I am not too familiar with Palakkad though I have visited the place a few times. Hence, the following questions:
- How far is this 5.5 L site from Palakkad Fort?
- Are there other settlements around this site?
- How far from the nearest Hospital/Bank/Shops ?
- What is the road frontage (length facing the road) for the site?
- What is the total area available?
I understand that the kodumbu area is also good (around the Murugan temple).
