the interest and interaction shwon seems overwhelming. but still to get firmly embedded with a deep rooted commitment, i feel a token amount of say rs. 1000 should be collected in advance and kept as a corpus fund.
all of us are matured and our aim is get a good house. let us trust each other and nominate a group leader and it cannot be anyone else other than mr giri who is dynamic and vibrant.
i feel this amount though not significant will create a commitment firm.
the main purpose is to have a BUDGET HOME.WITHOUT COMPROMISING ON ANY FACILITY OR QUALITY YET WITHIN A DECENT BUDGET. the budget of rs. 5 lacs looks n ice for land and perhaps a 1200 sq ft house ( 3 BED ROOM ) should cost totally say not more than rs. 25 lacs including the cost of land.
your views and suggestions for brainstorming is invited.

I think collecting money at this juncture may not be liked by many.
More over it is not necessary now. Once we manage to select an area,
we can ask for it. It will be required at that time to offer as a
token advance to the seller prior to document registration. I intend
to to make it absolutely clear that the members need pay advance only
if they are completely satisfied with the area selected and the views
of the majority of members.

i appreciate ur sincerity and modesty in dealing with this matter.but prolonging the discussions on this , the idea of my suggestion was to only create some sort of a commitment and that i felt would well be taken positively by those who are sincerely interested. anyway you are a better judge and i value your opinion.
as regards names i have a few:
NIKUNJ
PRAKRITI
GOKULAM
MANGALAMURTI
SIDHIVINAYAKA
YOGADHIPA
NAMASTHETU.
THESE ARE A FEW FORM THE BASKET FOR SELECTION

I appreciate your idea of creating a commitment by the members. But I
think the majority of the members have sincerely involved themselves
in this project and hence money does not make much of a difference.
The names Yogadhipa, Gokulam and Prakriti are very attractive. Let us
see what others have in their minds. My humble suggestion is to add
the name of Adi Sankara also if possible, like Sankara Yogadhipa. How
ever, I leave it to the collective wisdom of the members.

I have spent only Rs 1500/= for the first site visits. In case I need
to spend more on future trips, we can think about collecting the money
from the members along with the advance to be paid to the land owner.

I feel, discussing any corpus fund now is a bit too early.
It is certainly a nice gesture on Mr Giri's part to share information on his site visits. But again, I suggest we do not discuss this issue now.
The best thing is to contribute to the effort required to locate a suitable place. People can offer support in many ways;
1. Giving contact details of people in Palakkad, Tenkasi etc. who can help us
2. Making the actual visits to evaluate these places.
3. Providing their comments/suggestion on places identified or possible new locations that can be evaluated
4. Suggesting legal methods of establishing an entity that can take responsibility for establishing an Agraharam
5. Or simply by corresponding and sharing their thoughts
