Photoshine is a piece of photo-editing software. It allows users to upload photos and put them into various different templates. It also has some ability to add effects, such as turning a colour photo into a black-and-white one. Generally though, it seems to be intended to be for putting pictures in frames which can then be sent on to friends and relatives, rather than for any serious editing or layering of effects. Some of the frames available allow you to put more than one picture in, which might be useful for putting together collages of holiday pictures, for example. The frames are grouped by theme, such as 'love' and 'baby', making it easy to find the kind of frame you want for the occasion. The quality of many of them could be better, but there are some gems in there too.
Pros: nearly 700 different frames in the paid-for version, easy to use.
Cons: poor quality of many frames means it has fairly limited appeal.
Conclusion: Photoshine is a fun piece of software which will probably appeal mostly to younger users. It is not going to impress anyone who has knowledge and experience of photo-editing, or who would like to do anything more advanced than simply putting a photo in a frame. That said, for someone wanting to create framed photos to send to friends quickly and without too much thought, Photoshine might be ideal.
