I would jump on 9588, it is a D1 which will give you about 25 square foot difference using your measurements and the slight view obstruction is so minimal it is not worth worrying about it is almost a center hump (very coveted).The convenience of the hump cabins are wonderful. We had an end hump and the only "problem" is that you can't look straight down the ship all the way forward or all the way back, but you are further out where that room is. You wouldn't be able to look all the way forward either on the 8th floor room because the hump will block your view forward. Take the larger room!!
I have not stayed in these cabins, but I will give you some things to consider, and maybe someone else can chime in. I think I would take the hump cabin, even though it is not dead center. Your may not be able to see around the hump to the front of the ship, but why do you need to see the front of the ship? You'll be looking out, right? Also, it is a bigger cabin and close to the elevators.
We were in 9610 on the Serenade just a few weeks ago. The cabin is just a few down from the hump. It was a great location-close to mid ship elevators and stairs. The hump didn't obstruct our view at all although we could see it.
Just sailed in June on Serenade to Alaska. We were in 9586 and absolutely loved it for the location and the views it provided. You will notice the extra square feet in 9588. The D1 is a very well organized cabin and we had room for everything. Let me know if you have any more questions. Jan
this will not directly help you, but we just returned from AK on the Serenade 2 weeks ago and we had cabin 8608. It was 3 doors down from the elevator and yes, a bit smaller than cabin 9588. It was a perfect balcony view, a perfect location!
