Dear all,

For REM analysis, new projects will use camera trap models that are not yet calibrated in Agouti. Would you have a calibration protocol for new camera models?

If I remember correctly, we need to:
- Determine the viewing angle by placing a rope on either side up to the edge of the camera's field of view
- Place 9 stakes marked at 1, 2 and 4 m ((while for the calibration of deployments, it is at 2.5m, 5m, 7.5m and 10m ??)) and take their GPS locations?
- For each stake (9 stakes), hold it while validating with the number of fingers the distance from the camera

Should we also add random points (as when calibrating deployments)?
How should we add these photos to Agouti or should we send them to someone? The photos with an Excel file showing the GPS positions of the 9 points?

Thank you very much for your help,
Valérie

Hi Valérie,

I’ve attached the instructions for taking the camera calibration images.

After you’ve taken the images, you can sent them over to us, and we’ll add these new camera calibrations to Agouti

Kind regards,

Anouk
