Unable to make annotations

Dear Agouti team,

I am currently encountering a problem where I am unable to annotate anything in Agouti because none of the annotation options will load. Whenever I click the Animal button it does not allow me to search for a species, age or sex, and none of the options about behaviors load either. It also doesn’t let me change an unannotated sequence to blank or unknown, or any of the other alternative options.

Could you please help me solve this issue?

Hello, not sure if this is resolved for you? 

I'm not part of the Agouti team so have no knowledge of any potential back end/server side issues, but for general troubleshooting:

Have you tried starting a new 'Incognito' or 'InPrivate' browser instance and logging into Agouti? It would be best to do that and confirm the issue remains in that private browser session.

Hello, 

I am having this exact same problem as well. I cannot enter a species or search for a species name in the annotation screen.

I have tried in a private browser and it is the same problem.

Hi Hilary,

 

The problem ended up being that there was an empty row in the species list of my project, and after I deleted that empty row from the Species tab I was able to start annotating again.

I'm also experiencing this problem, but I think only for more recently created projects. Older projects are allowing me to add and edit species annotations, although the observation dialogue varies, I think again in relation to project age - for very old projects the behaviour checklist is still there, for example. It feels like the annotation interface version is getting frozen at the time of project creation, which doesn't seem sensible.

Would be great to get this fixed soon (at least the inability to add species annotations in recent projects)!

Hey all,

 

This is quite a mysterious issue that I have trouble reproducing. As Morgan mentioned deleting the empty row in the species table solves the issue.

 

What would be super helpful if someone can help us understand the problem better. Does the empty row come back after deleting? If so, at which step exactly?

We have found the issue and rolled out a fix. I hope annotating works again. Please let us know if it still doesn’t.
