Nate French sent out the following email within the last week, to be distributed to all who plan to attend the 2011 AGOT World Championship at GenCon Indy this summer (I apologize if some of you have seen this two or three times already, I've been a little lax on tending to emails lately). Please forward this to any GenCon-bound AGOT player not on any of these email lists:
I was just speaking with Steve about this year's GenCon, given the
ongoing role call thread and other reports we're expecting a rather
large turnout -- in addition to people who have posted, I'm expecting a
significant number of people that no one has ever met before, for whom
GenCon will be a first experience with the AGoT community. I wouldn't be
surprised if we hit 75 or 80, and maybe even get close to 100.
Because of this, we are trying to work with GenCon to secure some
additional space in the card hall, but the pre-registration numbers are
not helping us out on this front. (I think at this point there are like
12 pre-registered for the melee and 15 for the joust.) If you, as the
well connected community leaders that you are, could get the word out
among your various groups and contacts that every GenCon
pre-registration for the AGoT events we get will help provide spacing
for the tournaments, it would be extremely beneficial in getting some
extra seating, so that we are not all crammed together.
Thanks, and looking forward to seeing you all in a month and a half.
