Though "Wonder Woman" is not the first female-led superhero movie, following behind "Supergirl" in 1984, "Catwoman" in 2004, and "Elektra" in 2005, it has become the first successful one scoring a 91% on Rotten Tomatoes, grossing $368 million domestically and over $700 million worldwide, breaking records left and right, and managing to become the highest domestic grossing film in the DC Extended Universe, topping both "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" ($330 million) and "Suicide Squad" ($325 million). "Wonder Woman" has become a cultural icon and role model for young girls everywhere, but let's not forget that she is not the first female character to kick ass on screen.
Taking care of her family since she was 12, volunteering to take her sister's place in The Games at 16, and then leading a rebellion at 18. Katniss Everdeen is definitely one kickass character you cannot overlook.
Tris had to be extremely careful in her initiation to keep her divergence a secret, for fear of death, had to flee her faction when they figured out who she was, and then took on the government, ultimately (SPOILER ALERT for those who have not read the books) giving her life for her cause.
By far the smartest, most clever, witch of her age, Hermione Granger stands on her own and shows everyone that it does not matter where you come from as long as you work hard, and let's not forget to save Harry Potter's life on more than one occasion.
Moana may not be a conventional choice for a kickass female character, but let's look at the facts. She did what she had to do to save her people, even if it meant disobeying her father, She never gave up, even though it seemed like the whole world was against her, and she risked her own life to save those of her people. If that doesn't make her kickass I don't know what does.
Emma Swan has had to save her town on more than one occasion, protected her family by any means necessary, and even became a villain herself, and though her time as this show's leading lady has come to an end, she is still "the savior" and a kickass one at that.
First appearing in Iron Man 2 in 2010, Black Widow has kicked ass all across the Marvel Universe, appearing in Marvel's The Avengers and most recently Captain America: Civil War. Trained to be an assassin as a young girl, she has become a staple in the Avengers on-screen lineup and is set to appear in the highly anticipated Avengers: Infinity War and the untitled Avengers 4, where we will get to see her kick ass all across the galaxy.
Yet, another unconventional choice but her me out, though she may have been naive and tried to marry some guy she barely knew, she ultimately realized his plan and then sacrificed herself to save her sister.
She was sent to Earth from her home planet of Krypton to protect and watch over her cousin, Kal-El (aka Clark Kent/Superman), but her pod got knocked off course and by the time she was here, he already was grown. Fast forward and she became a hero in her own right, protecting the citizens of National City, and the world, from alien threats.
She's been through a lot in during the course of 13 seasons, but every time something happens she comes out the other side stronger than ever. She's faced loss, heartbreak, and several near-death experiences, and she continues to be one of the best doctors at Grey-Sloan Memorial Hospital.
First appearing in Captain America: The First Avenger, Agent Peggy Carter helped found the organization S.H.I.E.L.D. and was on of its top agents, in a time period where a woman was not supposed to succeed at anything.
Superhero turned private investigator, Jessica Jones is forced to become a hero again when her "ex-boyfriend" Kilgrave shows back up in town and is trying to get her back under his control, and she does everything in her power to stop him.
She was forced to go into hiding when her father was taken by the Empire. Years later, she becomes part of the Resistance and leads a team of rebels to steal the plans for the Death Star. Pretty sure there doesn't need to be any more explanation.
70 years after the events of Avatar: The Last Airbender, the story picks up after Aang has passed and a new Avatar has come, Korra. As the next Avatar, Korra learns to master her bending in order to save her world, as well as keep balance.
One of the few things the film was praised for was Margot Robbie's performance of the character first introduced in Batman: The Animated Series. Harley Quinn became the true hero of the movie because without her they probably would not have been successful in stopping Enchantress from destroying the world.
When she lost her husband and her child, then became the mother to three dragons, she acquired an army and left to take her rightful place on the Iron Throne, willing to kill anyone who stands in her way.
Gwen Stacy held her own, risking her own life to save New York, and helped Peter Parker on more than one occasion, and then ultimately loosing her life at the hands of the Green Goblin in The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

Appearing in the first three Pirates movies, Elizabeth Swann is kidnapped by Jack Sparrow, and then eventually becomes part of the crew herself, helping fight villains like Captain Barbosa and Davey Jones.
Known as Princess Leia in the original trilogy, her appearance in The Force Awakens changed the tone of her character, know a General in the Resistance, she fights against the First Order, which is headed by her son Ben Solo, also known as Kylo Ren. She is set to appear in the upcoming eight installment, The Last Jedi, though due to Carrie Fisher's unexpected passing, that will be the last outing for Leia.
While these are my 25 favorites, there are quite literally 1000s that could have been included. The Beatles' body of work is massive and there is something for everyone. If you have been living under a rock and haven't discovered the Fab Four, you have to get musically educated. Stream them on Spotify, find them on iTunes or even buy a CD or record (Yes, those still exist!). I would suggest starting with 1, which is a collection of most of their #1 songs, or the 1968 White Album. Give them chance and you'll never look back.
The best superpower ever? Being invisible of course. Imagine just being able to go from seen to unseen on a dime. Who wouldn't want to have the opportunity to be invisible? Superman and Batman have nothing on being invisible with their superhero abilities. Here are some things that you could do while being invisible, because being invisible can benefit your social life too.
Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
Sometimes traditions seem like a silly thing, but the fact of it is that it's part of who you are. You grew up this way and, more than likely, so did your parents. It is something that is part of your family history and that is more important than anything.
When tragedy strikes in a small town, everyone feels obligated to help out because, whether directly or indirectly, it affects you too. It is easy in a bigger city to be able to disconnect from certain problems. But in a small town those problems affect everyone.
Along the same lines as #3, everyone is always ready and willing to lend a helping hand when you need one in a small town and to me that is the true meaning of community. It's working together to build a better atmosphere, being there to raise each other up, build each other up, and pick each other up when someone is in need. A small town community is full of endless support whether it be after a tragedy or at a hometown sports game. Everyone shows up to show their support.
People say this to others all the time, but it takes on a whole new meaning in a small town. It is true that life is about the journey, but when you're from a small town, you know it's about the journey because the journey probably takes longer than you spend at the destination. Everything is so far away that it is totally normal to spend a couple hours in the car on your way to some form of entertainment. And most of the time, you're gonna have as many, if not more, memories and laughs on the journey than at the destination.
Word travels fast in a small town, so don't think you're gonna get away with anything. In fact, your parents probably know what you did before you even have a chance to get home and tell them. And forget about being scared of what your teacher, principle, or other authority figure is going to do, you're more afraid of what your parents are gonna do when you get home.
While small towns are not always extremely diverse, they do contain people with a lot of different stories, struggle, and backgrounds. In a small town, it is pretty hard to exclude anyone because of who they are or what they come from because there aren't many people to choose from. A small town teaches you that just because someone isn't the same as you, doesn't mean you can't be great friends.
Nothing comes easy in life. They always say "gardens don't grow overnight" and if you're from a small town you know this both figuratively and literally. You certainly know gardens don't grow overnight because you've worked in a garden or two. But you also know that to get to the place you want to be in life it takes work and effort. It doesn't just happen because you want it to.
