I want to get rid of (Personal) in my dropbox root folder now that I've stopped using Dropbox business. "Jane" gives a great desription of how to change it on my mac, on this page: -and-desktop-app/undo-changed-folder-name/td-p/220463
BUT, when I try the first step of deleting the link to my computer, it asks me "Delete files from my personal Dropbox the next time this computer comes online." and I don't know if I'm supposed to check this, or not supposed to check this. And, it won't let me "REPLY" directly to Jane.

Why can't Dropbox team develop a simple 'rename' function? Why do you force root folder names upon us, in particular with sapces. With spaces in your imposed folder names Dropbox is incompatible with plenty of software. All for the sake of a simple "F2" folder rename function.
I used to be on Windows 7 and my dropbox folder was named Dropbox despite I had linked my work account - now on windows 10 it is named Dropbox (Personal). Apart from breaking my existing shortcuts, adding a space and other 10 characters in the path it also seems ugly. Can't I really _not_ get rid of this "Personal" and name it just Dropbox?
If the desktop application hosts two accounts of yours, one personal and one business, there is no way to remove the "Personal". However, if you choose to unpair the 2 accounts and you would keep the personal only synced to your desktop app, then it would switch back to just "Dropbox."

It used to work on windows 7 however (till yesterday) - I had managed to get rid of that "personal" and have both my accounts synced, I just don't remember how I did it (a year ago). Can I sync outside of the dropbox app?
Currently Dropbox can only sync only inside Dropbox. Symlinks do not operate with Dropbox the same way as before. They can only work if the file is in Dropbox and the point to a location outside Dropbox. Please read about this here.
The most recent is that I can't rename a duplicated file. Pressing "Enter" gives the "error" chime. Right-clicking does not give the rename option (screenshot below). I can rename the file on dropbox.com and the change is reflected locally but this is time-consuming. This has happened for multiple files in different folders.
The two ways to duplicate a file on a Mac that I use most often are Command+D (or right-click and select Duplicate). This creates an identical file in the same folder with " copy" appended to the file name. The rename option is missing.
I would absolutely love to be able to rename files within the platform. We try to keep our file names consistent so that we know what they are and it would be so much more convenient to be able to upload files quickly with whatever name they already have and then edit the name afterward.
We have users who upload files, and those users give their files names that are vary greatly. If the Monday.com platform could rename uploaded files to a standard naming convention, that would be excellent. Are plans in place for this capability?
I'm looking to schedule a workflow to run weekly, but in order to do this I need to dynamically rename my Excel file output with the date range. Below are some examples of what I'm working off of, and what I would like my final outcome to be. As well as some of the issues I've run into.
A received a gdb and needed to rename some of the features. The dataset is stored on our local network share. If I rename the feature in ArcMap 10.8.1 the change takes 2-3 seconds. Pro 2.9.3 takes about 20 seconds. In Pro 3 the same rename can take up to 3 minutes.
I am using 3.1.3 and also have been annoyed at the slowness for renaming features. I often just Desktop for these sort of changes (e.g. renaming lots of features, basic editing) and only use Pro when I need to reference streaming data. I would love to have Pro be faster for basic operations.
The rename command will simply rename the existing entry to whatever you have specified, so say for example that I created a "Test" GlobalProtect-Gateway alongside a "Test" GlobalProtect-Portal entry I could rename them to Test-Gateway and Test-Portal by issuing the following:
It's a festering problem in the mindset of software developers there. For example, if i select a number of items in the model tree to Suppress, but one of them is already suppressed, then I can't Suppress any of them; I think the same applies to Hide. Rather than look at doing the most with what's available the PTC developers look to error out even when it's not required, but not in a way that informs the user or gives them a choice. More like a Monty Python argument.
You can add everything to workspace and go offline from server ,or take a backup and rename the required part , then import to windchill and then update the required parts from the common space/windchill cabinet .
I hope I'm in the right area. How do you rename a stack now? Use to be I could right -click and rename ( I'm pretty sure ) and now I can't figure it out. I want the simplicity back . Here is my version
In that version, double click the Notebook label in the left hand sidebar column and the Notebooks window will be displayed. Alongside the stacks (which should appear at the top of the list) is a three dot menu option. Click that and one of the options included is Rename Stack.
I note that when I click the Attributions item in the Help menu nothing happens. Yet another bug, but this one is rational - if I was involved in this release I would want to hide my name too.
I see that your MD has been on the media spinning the outcry as conservative users who are resistant to change. All that does is fan the flames. I've been using software intensively for decades, and this is quite literally the worst release I have ever seen. That's what we are objecting too.
This is a regression from the old version. It was more convenient before right clicking than having to go to the Notebooks menu. We lose a lot in productivity with this new method. It's incomprehensible
Thankfully renaming a notebook is still possible. TIP: you need to open "My Notebook List" by clicking on notebooks as shown below, then use F2 or the three dots menu to rename. It is possible to rename stacks as well, but it is like using shovel instead of a spoon to eat lunch. Nothing happens when you press F2 or right click a notebook. It is weird and counter intuitive way to rename
A: Notebook stack, with a number of sub-notebooks. Can't right-click, which would be the intuitive option. When I left-click to select, I now know to look for three dots at position C, but nothing appears other than 'sort options' and 'view options' buttons
B: Individual notebook. Can't right-click. When I left-click to select, the three dots do appear at position C. Not an intuitive place to put rename options, but at least it's there once we know where to look.
