Hello Wonderful People,
I would like to remind you all in the spirit of giving and caring,
that Aging As Ourselves has Volunteer opportunities!
Sometimes an older homebound LGBT individuals might need a little help
or companionship. By signing up as a volunteer with Aging As Ourselves
you can make a difference in the lives of those that were pioneers in
the LGBT community. Select from several opportunities below to work
with a senior one-on-one, or pitch in as a community outreach
volunteer.
Friendly Visiting - Make weekly or bi-monthly visits to the home of an
LGBT senior to provide companionship, socialization, and reduce
isolation. This may include playing cards, board games, talking, scrap
booking, etc...
Grocery Shopping - Provide bi-monthly or weekly grocery shopping for a
frail and homebound senior. Either shop for the senior or take them to
the store with you.
Bill Minding - Provide bi-weekly or monthly budgeting assistance to a
homebound senior.
Volunteer Driver - Volunteer to take a senior to a doctors
appointment, on an essential errand, or a social activity. Volunteer
driving is one of the most requested services we have, please consider
volunteering for this important job!
Community Outreach - Represent Aging As Ourselves and all of its
programs at a community outreach event. Educate the community about
the importance of serving LGBT seniors and advertise the wonderful
programs we offer!

from 9:00 am to Noon located at the SAGE Center
