New Release of Agilo for Trac (formerly Agilo for Scrum)

Today we're releasing a new version of Agilo for Trac Pro 1.3.8 (and the Agilo for Trac Open Source edition, 0.9.8). This  release contains only the following changes:

  • Manage 'task' tickets via xml-rpc. Both read and write operations are now supported (including changing ticket status, attachments...), but currently the xml-rpc support is limited to tickets of type 'task'.  Extended support like different ticket types and hierarchical information is planned for next versions. For this feature to work the Trac XML-RPC plugin (http://trac-hacks.org/wiki/XmlRpcPlugin) has to be installed
  • Fixed bug causing calculated fields in the backlog view to be incorrect when involving tickets of a type not included in the backlog.
  • Fixed wrong admin link when the logged in user does not have admin rights
  • Fixed bug causing the ticket fields to be hidden when loading ticket edit pages
  • Fixed other small bugs

How to Update

  • Download the new version from the tools page and unpack the zip file so you have abinary_agilo-<version-number>_PRO-py<your python version>.egg file.
  • Create a backup of your Agilo environment folder and your database (if you use sqlite, the database is just a file in your environment).
  • Install the new version of Agilo: easy_install binary_agilo-... (you might want to do that with the sudo command on Linux)
  • If you used 'trac-admin deploy', you need to redeploy the static files (if you don't know what 'trac-admin deploy' does, just ignore it, it's just an additional optimization)
  • Make sure you and the other users empty their browser cache before visiting the site.

More information about upgrading can be found in our upgrade guide.

Great work guys! The developers will love being able to change their tasks in Eclipse MyLyn now. You mentioned that on “tasks” work now. Any idea when “bugs” will work? The “requirements” and “user stories” should be last priority IMO since the Product Owner and Scrum Master seem to only use the web dashboard.

Thanks again!

Thanks for your feedback!
The problem of supporting different ticket types has some difficulties related to the way the Eclipse Trac connector is built.
Basically there is no simple way to tell the connector about the different sets of fields for the different types.
This makes it very difficult to estimate how long it will take, and the only thing I can say is that this is one of our top priorities right now.

Cheers
