Many open source projects host a demo server to strut their stuff.
Does anyone around here have at spot where we could host at demo?

Good idea. THough we just ditched the bulk of our hosting infrastructure, cutting way back. We talked about setting up something while developing, but figured it would be great to have (a) some dummy content so ppl can actually see what a functioning project looks like and (b) a way to wipe out the user inputted data regularly.

perhaps we could contact a django hosting provider and see if they wanted to host the demo in return for getting referrals/link from it.

if someone can handle the first part, I can try to persuade hosting provider for free space...

If someone is willing to spend the time to make the changes, google app engine will host us for free. But the app engine environment is not 100% stock django. A compatibility layer exists, but it isn't 100% compatible, so some work still needs to be done.
