We are a data driven sports website http://www.attheraces.com produced in support of the TV channel, specialising in delivering a range of solutions to the large user base of the website. You will be working within a small team of skilled developers and will have direct business client engagement. You will be able to expand your skills and take a multi-discipline approach to your work. Having an interest in sports/horse racing/betting would be a distinct advantage.
We are looking for a .NET developer with a proven track record in highly trafficked sites used to working in a TDD, continuous integration, Agile led environment. You will be involved in all elements of the application development lifecycle. You will need the ability to work on different work streams and projects at any one time and will need excellent communication skills. The role will allow you a great degree of input to develop innovative, cost effective solutions.
The successful candidate will need to be able to adapt to rapidly changing requirements, learn on their own initiative with support from the company and have a passion for technology. Our processes and working methods are continually evolving and you will have the opportunity to help shape those changes and also suggest changes/improvements to our tool chain.
Experience Required (Essential Skills):
3+ years .NET Developer/ C# / ASP.NET
Microsoft Visual Studio 2010
Strong SQL/T-SQL skills/ SQL 2008 R2
Relational database design with SQL
Web Development skills (HTML, JavaScript, CSS, DHTML/XHTML)
XML/XSLT
Desirable Skills/Experience:
MVC
LinQ/Entity Framework/nHibernate
WCF/REST
AJAX/jQuery
Subversion/TortoiseSVN/AnkhSVN
Experience or understanding of working in Agile environment
TDD development with nUnit (or similar) within a continuous integration environment using CruiseControl.NET or similar
Some graphic design skills advantageous (GIMP/MS Expression)
Developing and extending CMS, prior CMS experience advantageous
Objective-C/Xcode /iOS development
Having one or more of these would be a distinct advantage
