to AgileAustin Workshops
Recently I've been talking with visiting instructors, prominent agile
authors, and other out of town agile consultants and trainers.
Without exception they tell me that the agile community in Austin is
unique in terms of its activity.
In short, we are becoming nationally known for our program because we
have people like Nick, Chris, and the others stepping forward to give
back to the community. It's a very agile thing to do. To bond as a
team and help each other to be successful.
All of this is selfish in a way. As Nick pointed out, we all learn
together in these workshops. It isn't an expert standing in front of
a class teaching. It's a peer exploring and facilitating a discussion
about agile solutions to real world problems.
You can facilitate one of these workshops. It doesn't take that much
time or skill to develop because you aren't really teaching. You have
Nick, other facilitators, your workshop attendees, and the resources
of Agile Austin behind you to succeed.
Nick can guide you to be a successful facilitator and Agile Austin
will take care of all the logistics of rooms, projectors,
registration, supplies and so forth.
Give it a try. Give a piece of your knowledge back to the community
and receive compound interest on your investment.
