The March meeting at Capital Kanban is delighted to bring you Doug Couvillion of Impact Makers.  Doug's talk will be: 
 
Abstract:
 
 PMI OR Kanban?  Quite the contrary! 
 
One of the questions we hear very often is ‘How does Kanban fit with the classic PMI style project management – are they at odds with one another?’ Doug Couvillion of Impact Makers will answer that question for us and demonstrate that they can be even more powerful together.  Doug has used a blend of PMI, Scrum and Kanban on one his recent projects.  He is PMP certified and one of Richmond’s go-to people for Kanban implementations.
 

Bio:

Doug Couvillion, PMP, CSM

Doug has been the Director, Project Delivery for Impact Makers team since 2011. He began his career in 1992 as a software developer for AT&T. In 1997 Doug moved to the Richmond area to pursue a consulting opportunity. Since that time he’s worked with financial, manufacturing, technology, education, and government clients. Prior to accepting his current position Doug spent three years as an independent project management consultant. Doug prides himself in his ability to build strong, loyal teams that deliver results and his record of repeat business. His project management experience includes delivery of custom software, website development, management of offshore teams, business process implementations and infrastructure upgrades. Doug holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Mary Washington College (now The University of Mary Washington) and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and a Certified Scrum Master (CSM).
