I wanted to let you know about the next speaker coming to Capital Kanban on Feb 6th.

The announcement reads:

I am very happy to announce that our speaker next month will be Jon Terry of Leankit.  Jon has been a thought leader in the Lean, Agile, Kanban world and is a compelling speaker.  After a short presentation, he will open the floor to our questions – we’ll vote to decide which questions are of most value to the group.  Hint – He’s the COO of Leankit, so if you have questions related to that tool this is a great time to get them answered!

And..... as if that weren't enough.......there's more - Leankit is providing a door prize as well.  It's a Sony NSZ-GS7 Internet Player with Google TV!  We will do a raffle at the event.  You must be present to win!

A word about this meeting’s sponsor:

A big thank you to ICF Ironworks for sponsoring this meeting.

On December 30, 2011, Ironworks Consulting was acquired by ICF International, a leading provider of consulting services and technology solutions to government and commercial clients.

ICF Ironworks combines the disciplines of business strategy, technology and user experience to solve business problems. Large enough to have the knowledge you would expect from a large consultancy but small enough to be agile, responsive and flexible. Our mission and results are one in the same: Never fail a client.

ICF Ironworks has a unique corporate culture built by people who love what they do, respect the people they work with and enjoy the experience of working closely with clients to achieve results.

Meeting Abstract:

We all know that Agile is sweeping the project management world. Or is it Lean? Lean Agile? Scrum? Kanban? Scrumagilean, maybe? Jon Terry of LeanKit will discuss how these ideas relate to each other. How Lean principles provide the organizational framework to allow Agile to succeed beyond the team level. What the Kanban method really is. Hint: It's not just an alternative to Scrum for maintenance teams. And how you can use the data that Kanban provides for dramatically better forecasting and continuous improvement.

Speaker Bio:

Jon Terry is Chief Operating Officer of LeanKit. Prior to joining LeanKit, Jon held a number of senior IT positions with hospital-giant HCA and its subsidiary HealthTrust Purchasing Group. During that time he was among those responsible for launching HCA’s widespread adoption of Lean/Agile methods. Jon earned his Global Executive MBA from Georgetown University and ESADE Business School in Barcelona, Spain. He is a Project Management Professional and a Certified Scrum Master.

I will be coordinating carpool arrangements, so please let me know if you want to share a ride to the event.
